Alborz Fallah, Co-founder of CarAdvice.com.au
“Do something you love, and you’ll never work again” is a saying Alborz took to heart from a young age. He could name-check almost every make and model on the road by the age of four. Alborz founded CarAdvice in 2006 as a one-man blog where he could write about cars and help consumers find the car that was right for them. The company has grown a lot since then, and he is still an active member of the CarAdvice editorial team and writes prolifically. He travels the world attending car launches and motor shows and will accompany The Correspondent to the Tokyo motor show in October.
Chris Atkinson, FIA (WRC) World Rally Driver
Chris ‘Atko’ Atkinson is this country’s most successful rally driver and the only Australian to compete as a full factory driver in the FIA World Rally Championship. He won the 2012 Asia Pacific Rally Championship and has been on the WRC podium five times.. He is currently preparing to compete in the upcoming Extreme Rallycross series. As a regular reader of CarAdvice, Atko will be helping to review the entries and choose the finalists. He will also be provide some driving tips to the finalists as part of their audition.
Lauren Phillips, TV Presenter
Lauren Phillips is a professional TV presenter who is best known for her roles on Channel Nine’s travel programs Postcards and Getaway. She also co-hosts ‘Kids WB’ on Go! She has honed her driving skills by taking part in the Lexus Celebrity Race at the 2011 and 2014 Australian F1 Grands Prix . Lauren is a Mazda ambassador and considers herself a bit of a car enthusiast. As an accomplished presenter, she knows how to tell a story and will be helping to evaluate the contestants on their journalistic and presentation skills.
James Ward, Associate Publisher at CarAdvice.com.au
James is the Associate Publisher at CarAdvice and manages the editorial team. He has over 20 years experience in publishing and an encyclopaedic knowledge of the car industry. Prior to joining CarAdvice he managed operations for The Supercar Club and founded the Skyline Australian Car Club. He was also a finalist in the Top Gear Australia host search and is the only person to have driven an Ariel Atom from Melbourne to Sydney and back again. James has personally owned close to 40 cars and previously built a replica of the Mad Max Interceptor XB Coupe. Yes, it’s fair to say he likes cars. James will be helping to mentor The Correspondent during their three-month role.
